Why should I visit the dentist twice a year?
We recommend that you visit Paradox Dental every six months for a routine checkup, and professional cleaning. Paradox dental center also provides the benefit of convenience for today’s busy families. All members of the family can be treated in one location and we can work with you to coordinate visits to minimize the impact of dental care on your schedule.
Your home dental care routine is the single most important aspect of your overall dental health. Of course, we wish we could see you every day, but it’s just not practical. Home care is absolutely vital to maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile. Home dental care includes such activities as brushing, flossing, and mouthwash which are designed to help reduce bacteria and plaque from building up over time.
We Recommend Adding the Following To Your Daily Routine;
- Brushing Twice Daily
- Brush your teeth at least twice per day with an ADA approved soft bristle brush and toothpaste. It is especially important that you brush your teeth before bed each night to prevent a buildup of bacteria and the hardening of plaque.
- Floss Daily
- Flossing is extremely important as you must also clean between the teeth and under the gum line. Daily flossing is ideal to keep teeth and gums healthy. When flossing between teeth it disrupts plaque colonies to keep them from building up and damaging your teeth.
- Rinse After Eating
- Rinsing is also an important part of oral health. Rinsing your mouth with water between meals can help protect your teeth against build-ups. Adding a mouthwash to your daily routine will help protect against gum disease by killing bacteria and reducing gingivitis.
When should I begin to visit PARADOX DENTAL CENTER?
We recommend that children visit with us around their first birthday to begin to acclimate to the dentist office and experience an age-appropriate cleaning. We can provide tips for caring for your child’s developing teeth to prevent decay and help them feel comfortable with dental care at an early age.
Paradox dental center also offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to model healthy habits when visiting the dentist alongside their child. Visiting our office with a parent who is also coming in for dental care can help reduce their anxiety and lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy oral hygiene habits.
