Meet The Doctors
Dr. Carole Thoman
Dr. Carole Thoman was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. She attended Indiana University both at the Bloomington and the Indianapolis campus to receive her Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1981. After returning to Terre Haute to work as a dental hygienist and obtaining her prerequisites for dental school she returned to Indianapolis and Indiana University School of Dentistry to complete her Doctorate in 1988. Dr. Thoman practices exclusively on the Southside of Indianapolis with her husband, Dr. Robin Thoman. Their partnership allows each of them to practice their personal specialties in Dentistry while providing convenience for patient's to receive complete care in one location. Although she is a general dentist Dr. Thoman continues to take advanced training in various areas of dentistry: Cosmetic dentistry, Endodontics and Oral appliances for patients with obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. Dr. Carole continues to exceed the continuing education requirements as she studies for her Diplomate status in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Her interests outside the office include watching basketball, flying, spending time with friends and family and being involved in local Southport matters.
Dr. Robin Thoman
In 1974, Rob graduated from Southport High School and enrolled at Indiana University, Bloomington. In 1977, Rob joined the United States Army Medical Corps and was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado. Following in his father's footsteps, Rob received his doctorate from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1987 before beginning private practice in Southport. He later completed postdoctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia and at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Thoman has received Fellowship Awards in both General and Implant dentistry and is one of only two general dentists with staff privileges at St. Francis Hospital. He also finds time to serve as team dentist for the Indiana Pacers and volunteers as a pilot for Angel-Flight Missions throughout the mid-west.

- Greater Southport Business Alliance
- Ongoing professional training exceeds state requirements four-fold each year.
When he is not at the dental office or attending an Indiana Pacers game he can often be found at City Hall serving his community as Mayor for the city of Southport. Dr. Thoman is a Past President of the Greater Southport Business Alliance and the Central Indiana Dental Implant Society and continues as a Board Member of the Perry Senior Services.
